Years ago when I was an active alcoholic I lost a particular job that I enjoyed. Unfortunately I was offered no help or assistance from the firms HR dept. It is good to read the above article years later. I have been totally clean and sober now for over 7 years, after decades of trying to get sober unsuccessfully. HR departments ,I am sure, get tired of the revolving door of treatment and relapse. For those interested www.stopaddiction.com offers a great booklet that is free for the asking called "Guide to Addiction Recovery for a Lifetime" which HR depts may find useful as an educational and assistance tool for employees with a substance abuse or addiction problem.
